How soon after a sexual encounter can I get tested?
Better2Know’s comprehensive Instant Six Screen provides accurate results just 28 days after potential exposure to infection. This suggested four-week period is known as the incubation period. If you test within this time it can affect the accuracy of your results. Which samples does the Instant Six Screen require?
Better2Know’s Instant Six Screen provides rapid results for six STIs using blood and swab samples only. Your doctor at your private appointment will use swab samples to look for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea infections. The blood samples will test for the other four STIs, including HIV. Your blood sample can be collected by finger prick lancet, or you may be given the option of providing an intravenous blood sample for your convenience, if preferred. This screen has no dietary or fasting requirements.
What will happen at my private appointment?
A your private instant testing appointment, you doctor will explain your test and take your swab and blood samples for analysis. This is performed in the sexual health testing centre. You will receive your results shortly after the test has been conducted. This is Better2Know’s most comprehensive instant screening option and is designed and reviewed by a panel of sexual health specialists to give you the peace of mind you deserve. When will my confidential test results be reported?
You will receive the results of your Instant Six Screen from as early as 10 minutes of providing your samples. You will also be given a signed and completed copy of the Rapid Test Results Report before you leave. This will detail your results.
What if my Instant screen is reactive?
You will receive a prescription for Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea medication if your screen is positive for either or both of these STIs. For reactive HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C results, on the other hand, we will performa confirmatory test at no further cost to yourself.
